Week 7: Krystal, Merbein, VIC Soon I will say goodbye to the Mallee, this little corner of north-western Victoria that I have called home for over two years. The landscape still feels somewhat foreign, yet it never fails to draw me in. I decided to take a self portrait as I prepare to move on.
Week 24: Willy & Linda, Dandenong Ranges, VIC As Willy puts it, he grew up “book poor,” yet he always loved books. He now owns a beautifully quirky book shop, which he runs with his partner, Linda.
Week 18: Thea, Montrose, VIC Thea is my oldest friend- we met as children. Now she has children of her own.
Week 46: Robyn & Andrew, Belgrave, VIC Robyn and Andrew remain positive despite Robyn’s treatment for brain cancer.
Week 16: Andrew, Dandenong Ranges, VIC Andrew has been through a lot over the past few years- a liver transplant has given him a second chance. Although uncertainty still lingers, his strength, kindness, humour and love of photography endure.
Week 15: Justice, Dandenong Ranges, VIC I met Justice briefly in a hills laneway. She was strolling along, looking for coffee and a sunny spot to read her book. What a fitting name for a self-possessed young woman.
Week 36: Miranda, Ferntree Gully, VIC Miranda has strong opinions and a wicked sense of humour.
Week 29: Marcia, Tecoma, VIC Tecoma’s controversial McDonalds is now a reality, but a dedicated group of locals, including Marcia, continue to protest.
Week 31: Carter, St Kilda, VIC Nine year old Carter, waiting for his sister to finish ballet.
Week 47: Claudia, Abbotsford, VIC Claudia is one of the most creative people I know.
